Strike Anywhere Matches

Strike Anywhere matches do not ignite when struck against literally every surface. Performance is based on the ability to produce some resistance that creates the energy needed to trigger a chemical reaction. The green and white portions of the match head must come in contact with an abrasive surface at the same time in order to ignite a flame. This requires a firm, not forceful, striking motion.
